Good morning! I hope this blog is informational to you and provides you with insight into the importance of marketing. This blog is important to me because my background is in sales and marketing and I realize the importance of marketing in the business world. I hope that this blog helps you to realize the importance of marketing in the business world as well! Enjoy!

Marketing is something that is extremely important to businesses today. Businesses do not gain customers or make a profit without marketing. Businesses must market their products/services in order to sell them and they can do this in many ways. Examples of ways to market your product/service:
·         Advertisements on billboards
·         Advertisements on T.V./movies
·         Client testimonials
·         Commercials
·         Free giveaways
Please take a minute and watch this video on how companies can market their products and services more effectively:

Companies realize that in order to make money, they must spend money on advertising. Some companies do a better job of advertising than others and in return, they get more business. The following in a list of companies that does a great job of advertising:
·         Target
·         Chick-fil-a
·         State Farm Insurance
·         Geico
·         Wal-Mart
I believe that these businesses are as successful as they are because of the great advertising that they do. What are your thoughts on it?

  1. Amanda... Marketing is certainly important to businesses and with consumers having choices, the brand name of a company and its reputation plays an important part in decision making. What are your thoughts on using Social Media (Facebook, Twitter etc.) as a marketing medium?

  2. Hi Amanda, I love the marketing with animals like GEICO gecko, Chick-Fil A cows on billboards, and the AFLAC duck. Some companies have their own marketing departments and others use marketing firms or a combination. I often wonder about the great marketing campaigns how many are from the same marketing company. Good job on the blog. Looks great.

  3. A marketing company would be wise to provide each client their own identity. Otherwise it would look like a cookie cutter approach that may not differentiate companies. Do you think there is anything in common between GEICO, Chic-fil-a and Aflac?

  4. Great blog! I also agree that Chick-Fil-A and Target have great marketing campaigns. Furthermore, I too feel that much of these companies' successes are due to their effective marketing strategies. Referring to Dr. Hazari's first question, I think that companies should use social media to advertise their products and services because so many have twitter or facebook accounts. There would be some products or services, however, that I wouldn't bother advertising in social media like orthopedic products, electronic wheelchairs, or other geriatric products. The reason being is because most of the elderly do not have facebook or twitter. I think the companies would waste money using social media advertising.
